The Grand Appeal, the Bristol Children’s Hospital charity, has announced that its third award-winning trail, Gromit Unleashed 2, has raised £2 million for the hospital and the Neonatal Intensive Care Unit (NICU) at St Michael’s Hospital, Bristol.  This represents an amazing 309% increase in trail donations since their last trail (Shaun in the City).

Amalgam are extremely proud to have been involved with the sculpting, producing and customising of  sculptures for the trail and were over the moon to hear that that the amount raised by the trail has now exceeded £2 million.

In all trail visitors trekked the equivalent of a whopping 1,250,000 miles over 34,000 days to achieve 2,500,00 sculpture visits.

The Grand Appeal website shares even more mind-boggling statistics on the campaign, including facts and figures on national TV and PR coverage, and reach via the website and social media. There were also 40,000 app downloads.

Nick Park, creator of Wallace & Gromit and Patron of The Grand Appeal said: “Last summer, Gromit Unleashed 2 took the city of Bristol by storm with its innovation and creativity. It is fantastic to see, first hand, the real difference the money will make to so many young patients and their families from across the South West who are expertly cared for at the hospital.”
