Client: Glasgow Science Centre

A hand-powered electricity demonstration unit for Glasgow Science Centre, the Bike Generator demonstrates how movement can be converted into power.

The display is based on the principles of a dynamo. Magnets are attached to the bicycle wheel which passes through coils held in housings; as it does so, an electrical current is generated and amplified. A readout shows the user how much energy they have generated by turning the pedals.
