Exhibition Design and Build
Our exhibition model makers specialise in designing and building custom made creations for trade shows or permanent exhibits in all sectors. We offer a complete service of design, realisation, project management and installation; our clients range from large brands and museums, to small businesses. We start by exploring your marketing objectives, the space you’re using and the narrative or script for the project. With your instructions for the concept, we will develop 2D or 3D visual files to mock up how it will look, then build the display using our in-house workshop skills.
We can work from sketches or graphics files to design and develop visuals for your display. Our in-house CAD technicians and graphic designers can easily handle the digital aspects of a project brief and are highly skilled in interpretation and theming to create engaging displays for exhibitions, trade shows or museums.
We provide models for a range of industry trade shows and exhibitions, from scaled-up medical prototypes to cutting edge renewable energy demonstrators. These models are built to withstand the rigours of international transportation and can be designed to break down into a flight case (the Seagen Tidal Turbine for Marine Current Turbines, for example).
To produce physical models, we combine the talents of our in-house sculptors, engineers and fabricators to achieve outstanding results. For presentation purposes and winning over prospective clients, an exhibition model need not be large-scale; we have made several small ‘desktop’ models for client meetings and presentations.
We make interactive museum displays to fulfil a brief of being engaging, informative and accessible to a broad audience. Our skills include interpreting the story to deliver the learning outcomes, whilst selecting suitable materials to cope with high volumes of visitor traffic and wear and tear over time. Examples of our work can be seen in the The Holburne Museum, Cheddar Gorge and the Glasgow Science Centre.
Brand and Theming
Our Museum of Prehistory has been greeted enthusiastically, and after 4 years in operation with about 1 million visitors, is showing little signs of wear and tear, which is a tribute to Amalgam’s exacting standards of fit and finish, and their eye for using the right materials.
